IELTS Morgan Terry Memorial Scholarship - Call for Applications

The English Australia Corporate Affiliate Program has been developed to promote strong relationships between the ELICOS industry and organisations that contribute to its success in delivering high quality programs to overseas students. IELTS Morgan Terry Memorial Scholarship - Call for Applications

The IELTS Morgan Terry Memorial Scholarship is a new scholarship, funded by the IELTS partners (British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations), in memory of Morgan Terry who made significant contributions to the work of IELTS until her untimely death in 2011.
 

The award consists of:

- free registration to the IATEFL conference in Liverpool, UK, 8th-12th April 2013
- travel costs including an economy flight to the UK (including cost of flights and airport transfers but not the cost of stopovers)
- a maximum of five nights' accommodation
- free registration for the Testing Evaluation and Assessment Special Interest Group’s Pre-Conference Event
- GBP 50.00 per day expenses
- a year's IATEFL membership (read more)
 

To qualify you must:

- have prepared learners for taking IELTS
- have never attended the IATEFL annual conference
- agree to write an article six months after the conference about how attendance at the conference has enriched your practice.
 

To be considered you must submit (in 400-500 words):

- educational material you have created (e.g. lesson plan, classroom activity) and used to prepare prospective IELTS candidates for taking the test and detail:
- the creation process behind the material
- the reason(s) why the material is innovative
- how the material may be used by other teachers.

How to apply

Applications must be made by 20th September 2012 and results will be announced by 12th October 2012.
