New Chair and Deputy Chair for English Australia
English Australia is delighted to announce that Chris Wallis, the Director of Swinburne College, has been appointed to the role of Chair and that Marc-Weedon Newstead, the Principal/Group Executive of the UNSW Institute of Languages, has been appointed to the role of Deputy Chair of English Australia, effective from 16 March 2012 when the current Chair, David Matthews, officially steps down.
Chris and Marc will work closely with Bianca Panizza, the other Deputy Chair, to lead the Council in guiding the strategic direction of English Australia. The ELICOS industry and English Australia are fortunate to have people with this experience and commitment willing to dedicate their time and energy to the work of the industry association.
