English Australia – promoting Australia & member colleges

For the second year running, English Australia joined with Austrade and ACPET to collectively promote Australia as a leading destination for international students at ICEF Berlin in November this year.

ICEF Berlin is the largest international education workshop bringing together educational providers and agents (more than 2,100 participants), and it was great to have a strong, coordinated and highly visible Australian ‘footprint’ at the event to compete for attention alongside the Canadians and the British!

Interest in Australia was strong and positive and agents responded well to our hosted lunch, information seminar and the seminar provided by staff from the Department of Immigration office in Berlin.  It was good to see nine English Australia members in attendance, with English Australia providing broad support in engaging agents with more generic information about Australia, visas, work rights and why agents should choose to work with English Australia member colleges.

Whilst in Berlin, English Australia Executive Director, Sue Blundell, was interviewed by ICEF Monitor for one of their online featured interviews.  ICEF Monitor is a dedicated market intelligence resource for the international education industry, delivering industry news, market intelligence, research, interviews, videos, presentation files, infographics, best practice tips and trends – all with a firm focus on international student recruitment.

The article is entitled Key ingredients to ensuring sustainable growth in Australia’s language sector, with Sue focusing on sharing with agents some of the positive messages about current opportunities in Australia for them and their students.
