Austrade is working with Tourism Australia in Europe to develop a series of marketing campaigns in France, Germany and Italy promoting the study of ELICOS to working holiday (WH) makers.
Austrade is seeking expressions of interest from English Australia members willing to offer a prize of four weeks of ELICOS study to be featured in the campaigns.
The WHM campaigns will use Tourism Australia’s social media and public relations channels, along with a small number of European websites, to reach young Europeans with an established interest in coming to Australia on a WH visa. The campaigns will leverage the outcomes and analysis of Tourism Australia’s recently-completed Working Holiday campaign in France (run in partnership with Malaysian Airlines), which doubled the number of fans for Tourism Australia’s French Working Holiday Facebook site http://www.facebook.com/AustralieVisaVacancesTravail from 25,000 to 50,000. The campaign also will leverage a similar campaign to be run in Germany at the end of May/June, and a further campaign to be run in Italy next financial year.
The campaigns will centre on a competition to win a four-week ELICOS program at an English Australia member college. Competition entry will be limited to those who are eligible to apply for a WH visa, and planning to visit Australia. Entrants will have to answer three questions about why the study of English enhances the WH experience. They will be directed to a specially-created campaign landing page on the Study in Australia website, with links to a competition entry form and terms and conditions, each of which will be translated into French, German and Italian, as appropriate to each campaign
To express interest in offering the prize of a four-week ELICOS program and have your college featured in the campaigns, please contact Marie Hill, tel (03) 9648 3183 or e-mail: marie.hill@austrade.gov.au as soon as possible. Colleges will be selected on a first come, first served basis. There are no costs associated with participation, apart from the cost of donating the four week ELICOS program. However, Austrade cannot guarantee that all colleges expressing interest can be part of the campaign. The campaign may be used as a pilot to assess the potential value of running a larger promotion in Europe later in the year on a fee-for-service basis, in which case those that miss out will be kept on a reserve list for future opportunities.
