Invitation to breakfast forum with NSW Deputy Premier

Staff at NSW English Australia member colleges may be interested in this invitation from the Australian Council for Private Education & Training (ACPET). Registered guests may bring a colleague at no charge.

Dear English Australia member

In late 2012, the NSW Government released its plan for enhancing the state’s long-term global competitiveness, A Platform for Growth: The NSW Economic Development Framework.

A Platform for Growth is a response to a number of Industry Action Plans developed during 2012, including the action plan for International Education and Research (IER). A number of recommendations from the IER action plan are contained within the framework, including a proposal for a statutory agency to coordinate marketing and policy development for international education in NSW.

The NSW Government has been a strong and vocal advocate at a national level on issues affecting international providers and students within this state, and another key priority within the economic development framework is the implementation of the NSW Strategy for Business Migration and Attracting International Students.

ACPET invites you to join other education stakeholders at a breakfast forum with Deputy Premier, the Hon Andrew Stoner MP to hear more about the role of international education in NSW, including StudyNSW, as part of the economic development framework.

We hope you can join us at this important event.

Catherine Kearney
NSW & ACT Executive Officer
