English Australia S/T Delegate Elections

English Australia State/Territory Delegate Elections 

For four of the six vacant State/Territory positions on the English Australia Board, there was only one nominee. Accordingly, those nominated have been appointed unopposed.

Congratulations to the following, who are appointed as State/Territory Delegates for a one year period:

ACT/Tasmania/NT Delegate – Marian Star (University of Tasmania English Language Centre)
QLD Delegate – Kerry Sutcliffe (Griffith English Language Institute)
SA Delegate – Susan Austin (Centre for English Language at the University of South Australia)
WA Delegate – John Paxton (Perth International College of English)

All four are incumbent delegates who have been re-appointed and join the other Board members in making up the Board for 2012/2013:

Chair – Chris Wallis (Swinburne College)
Deputy Chair – Bianca Panizza (Centre for English Language Teaching, UWA)
Deputy Chair – Marc Weedon Newstead ( UNSW Institute of Languages)
General Delegate – Christine Bundesen (ICTE, University of Queensland)
General Delegate – Ian McGregor (QUT International College English Language Programs)
General Delegate – Ann Wright (RMIT English Worldwide)
General Delegate – Richard Arkell (Navitas English)
General Delegate – Lynette Harris (UoW College)

As more than one nomination has been received for NSW and Victoria, a Ballot is required in each state.  NSW and Victoria member colleges should read below regarding how to vote for their preferred candidate.

The deadline for voting is CoB Friday 5 October 2012.


In the case of NSW, two nominations have been received from:

- Susan Sharpe (Milton College)

One Ballot Paper per college should be completed by an authorised representative of eligible English Australia Member Colleges.

As this is an election for a State Delegate position, only NSW member colleges can cast a ballot. Also, only Full Members in NSW are eligible to vote.

Each eligible English Australia Member College is requested to cast a vote by completing a ballot paper and returning the completed ballot form by email, mail or fax (02 9264 4313) to the Secretariat by close of business (5pm) on Friday 5 October 2012. Late votes cannot be accepted.
