Each year there is the opportunity for staff at English Australia member colleges to consider nominating for positions on the Council of the association.
Elections will be held for the following positions on the Council of the ELICOS Association Limited at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held at the Sydney Convention Centre, Sydney, NSW, on Wednesday 19 September 2012:
- Chair - Deputy Chair - 2 General Delegates
Current Council members who will be stepping down from the positions which they now hold are Chris Wallis (Chair), Marc Weedon-Newstead (Deputy Chair), Richard Arkell (General Delegate) and Lynette Harris (General Delegate).
State/Territory Delegates will be elected by State/Territory Branches within 21 days after the AGM - Nomination Forms for these positions will be sent out after the AGM.
English Australia Member Colleges (Full Members) may nominate any persons who are owners or employees of English Australia Member Colleges (Full Members) who wish to stand for Council.
Council members who are stepping down from their positions are eligible for nomination and re-election.

English Australia Member Colleges may nominate persons for these positions by using the Nomination Forms located on the same page of the website and returning completed nomination forms by post to English Australia, PO Box 1437, Darlinghurst NSW 1300 or by fax to (02) 9264 4313 by 5.00 pm (EST) on Wednesday 22 August 2012.
Nominations received after 5.00 pm on 22 August will not be accepted.
Nominations will be called from the floor at the AGM only if the number of nominations received for any position in response to this call for nominations is insufficient to fill the number of vacancies for the position(s) concerned.
All nominations must be seconded and must be accepted by the nominee.
Nominees are requested to provide no more than one A4 page of information about themselves which will be distributed to membership to assist members to make informed decisions and cast their votes. Nominees are requested to include the name of their institution and to indicate if any other representative from their institution is currently a Council member and is not stepping down. Nominees will also be given an opportunity to address the AGM for two minutes prior to voting.
Further details of the AGM will be forwarded to all English Australia Member Colleges later in August.
