English Australia Conference & Awards update

2013 English Australia Conference

The 2013 English Australia Conference was held in sunny Perth last week. More than 250 people met at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre for three days of professional learning, connection and celebration.

From the pre-conference workshops to the ‘GrEAt Debate’ that closed the conference, business managers, marketers, student support service staff and representatives of regulatory bodies and government departments joined teachers, teacher trainers, academic managers and academics in a program that served to remind all that ‘It’s still about the students...’. Informal feedback has indicated that this was one of the most successful conferences to date.

PDFs of presentations and handouts together with photos from the program will be available shortly on the English Australia website, www.englishaustralia.com.au/past-conferences.

English Australia would like to thank the outstanding plenary speakers – Andrew Lee, Anne Burns, Jim Elliott and Scott Thornbury – and all concurrent session speakers as well as session chairs for their contribution to the success of the event. Thanks also go to the WA Branch of English Australia for their wonderful hosting and support.
